Jeffrey Blondes, born in America, has lived in France for over 40 years. His work since 2004 has been long-duration high-definition video. The films explore the intersection of landscape and time — as embodied in the French word temps : hour, weather, season, rhythm, cycle. Filmed always on site and minimally retouched, his 24, 52 and 104-hour videos invite the patient viewer to experience time passing, as the earth inhales and exhales.
