When Esther Woerdehoff started, in 1989 to expose photographs in
her apartment at Grossmünsterplatz 2 in Zurich, the address became
quickly an essential reference for photography. In short time, the
gallery, with its dynamic program, took an important place in the
photography milieu in Switzerland.
With the move of the gallerist to Paris, the artistic program
was widened. Since 1996, the gallery grants a broad place to
contemporary photographic positions, but has also a large treasure
of classic photography.
The gallery has always attached a great importance to collaboration
with museums and institutions. Thanks to this engagement, there
are over 150 exhibitions in France and Europe co-curated by the gallery.
Gallery Esther Woerdehoff also takes part in international art fairs.
